This place I go….North Yorkshire Moors.

Dearest Hearts,

As some of you already know by now: there is a special place I go to - up in the North Yorkshire Moors – around every winter Solstice. I return here, year on year, to connect to the spirit of the Cailleach, in these lands I call home.

I was there yesterday. And again today. And I’ll probably be there tomorrow too.

Drinking in her wisdom

Connecting with HER and preparing to bring her energies through for us in our online Circle and Guided meditation journey tonight.

At this time of year, there are many posts about what the season of Samhain and the spirit of Solstice might mean.

I love to read them all:

Love to receive each person’s unique perception of the spirit of this time…

But as always. My real encouragement to you would be to put your devices down. Step outside. And ask the Earth HERSELF what teachings she has to offer you at this special solstice moment:

Kiss the stones;

Make love with moss,

Stick your nose right into some heather and TASTE HER….

Breathe in her medicine.

Listen for the rhythms of what she is calling in you.

Be willing to witness the unexpected;

The unlikely;

The unsavoury.

Bite down on what is good or grisly

and chew it for a while. willingly. whatever it is

Make peace with whatever wants to come through you at this time.

Hold it like a precious gift in your hand

And inspect it slowly:

Be it beautiful and gentle

or sexy and dirty.

Try to be true to what is alive in you. Right now:

In this moment.

Just for now.

Don’t settle for someone else’s rehashed version of what this darkening time of year means, for them.

But plunge into her depths and ask her yourself:

Wise Mother,

Great Spirit

Plant kin, animal kin, Holy Ones All.

What are your teachings to me at this time?

I open to your wisdom….

She might answer in signs or symbols;

Colours of patterns.

She might reach you through temperature changes

Or textures

Or gushes of icey wind.

But she will answer.

And you will call.

And her message to you today is as unique as the soul song you were born with…

So this is my humble offering to you today:

Don’t settle for someone else’s Solstice soul message

but Go out.

Put your hands on the bare Earth.

And ask her yourself….

Find your own.
